Nonoy, you're the man!

Nonoy in action on Heart's Week
I think I last saw him when I was in highschool (1997-2000) I have never thought of this guy again since I saw this picture in Facebook earlier. I'm not even sure what his real name is, but we know him as Nonoy.

Feeling ko, kinder (1990) pa lang (or could be much earlier) eh nasa school na namin siya, Catbalogan 1. From what I remember, he served as an all-around guy. He'd do errands for some teachers but mostly he helped clean up our grounds and always with that same ready smile on his face.

He is physically disabled but he never seemed to lose that smile except that one time when he was frantically trying to stop an all-out fight between me and a boy classmate. I eventually stopped reaching out to try and hit my classmate for fear of hitting Nonoy accidentally.

Yes, he is disabled. But he certainly knew to care enough about us to even try to stop our fight.

Naiyak ako ng nakita ko tong pic na to. Seeing his smile again hurts like a son of a bitch because it reminds me that there are people like Nonoy out there who hasn't been dealt with a fair hand in this world but are still ready to smile and be thankful and be happy because of the simplest things. While there are people like me, hindi naman perpekto ang buhay ko... But I know that I could learn a thing or two about gratefulness and losing that sense of entitlement that most of us feel at times.

This post is a personal reminder to myself and everyone who happens to see this post na anakngtinapa, some people have it worse and are still happy. Do what you can with what you have. Be thankful for it and stop bitching!

What makes a great but annoying movie?

... when you see how painful some things are ... yet, you know that you could have made those same decisions (as the characters) if you were in those same situations...

POTA! ANG SAKIT NG MATA KO!

Aftershock - not as bawl-and-shout-nakakaiyak as when I watched Moments to Remember... but still as ouch-to-the-eyes and trembling-stomach-muscles-(yes! I still have my stomach muscles)-while-trying-not-to-cry-so-much.

It hurts the heart! demmit!

Crybaby

Pota! Ang alam ko si Kai ang pinakaiyakin sa aming lahat... pero taena...

IKAW NA! Ikaw na ang umiyak sa trailer ng Hachiko sa HBO! Hahahhaahhaha!

Bago ako umalis ng bahay... mag-da-daily facial routine na ako dapat (i.e. toner + moisturizer) in preparation para umalis ng bahay... (notice my soft and smooth skin????) at siyempre ginagawa ko 'to habang nanonood ng TV para naman di sayang oras...

Eh biglang pinalabas yung trailer ng Hachiko... MWAHAHAHA! Tulo luha galore ako! Pakshet!

Missing you...

We lost Mommy, my maternal grandmother, when I was in highschool... I thought we'd be done grieving after a few months... or even after a year or two.. considering that we were an extended family... we''ll that's what I thought... and I guess... I thought wrong.

Yes, we still miss her from time to time... we'd reminisce about what she used to say to us when we behaved badly, we'd reminisce about the things she used to do, the things she used to like. But we'd all remember it with a smile and a laugh.

I never thought that when caught in just the right moment and you hear one simple phrase that would remind you of the person you lost, or why you lost them... I never thought that it would actually set off the tears brigade... even after a decade has passed.

I write about this often enough, but usually with a smile on my face... it is only now that I write about this with tears on my face... and I guess this wouldn't be the last. Why is it that even when you know that a person's gone,   you only just do realize that they're not there when you want to hug them... but you can't.

I miss you Mommy!

Highblood!!!

Actually... di ko sigurado kung highblood nga ba 'to. Ang alam ko lang...ANAKNANGSHET! Masakit yung batok kooooooo!!! I've been doing night shifts since last monday, pero di naman sumakit ng ganito yung batok ko. Besides, 8-hours naman parati tulog ko... ibang oras nga lang than usual... but it's still the prescribed number of hours!

Also, I feel like I have a stiff neck, pero I can't, for the life of me, figure out how I got it. My neck was fine when I woke up, kani-kanina lang medyo umangal 'tong leeg ko.

Could it be my non-stop article reading since my last post until now? Hmmm...

Basta ang alam ko... I only 500 pesos cash till next payday! How am I going to survive till then?!?! Shet!! Nagiging totoo na yung highblood ko!
